Another Question...

Why is it that people make resolutions that they know they are going to need help to keep and don't get the help they need to keep them? How many people resolve to lose 10 pounds, stop smoking, drink less, etc and never accomplish it because they are left on their own to deal with it? I'm not trying to knock those of you that fall into the category, but what's the point? I see you come into the gym for a few days, weeks, maybe even a month, and then you quit because it doesn't happen as fast. Well no shit!! You didn't gain 50 pounds in one month, did you? Well, figure it will take twice as long to come off.

I guess we all need some help sometime, so why not make that a resolution for those of you that need a single day in the year to make a resolution? Make the resolution to help somebody, somebody that needs the help. Whatever you deem them to need help with, just help. Go join the gym. Get your friend a trainer for a month. Buy them the patch to help them quit smoking. Do something. It isn't like you really need Christmas to buy somebody a gift is it? Or are we that shallow that we can only look outside of our shadows on specified days?

Oh, and I said you for making resolutions, because I finally figured out I can set my mind to accomplish something any day of the year, not just January 1st. I might not accomplish it in 1 week, 1 month, or even 1 year, but I will finish it. And yes, with help.

Ok, so the calendar says 2006

Why is it that everybody feels some urge to go out and drink on New Year's Eve? The day is just like February 1st, March 1st, etc... So, why is it necessary to create a "holiday" to go hang out with people, have some drinks, and have a good time. Does it being January 1st of a new year instantly erase the memories of every stupid thing you did while you were drinking the night away? Last I checked, if you were acting like an ass, somebody remembers, and somebody else doesn't care that you had a few too many to drink. Matter of fact, somebody recorded it and is playing it over and over again for people that don't need to know about it. Go figure. I'm really not a bitter person, I just don't understand why we all do some things. Are we all really just about following somebody else? I mean, I'm following somebody now by writing in here. If the New Year really is for us to change our ways, our sense of being and what we stand for, why not start at midnight?
